The message in four sentences:

  1. Birth rates everywhere in the world are falling or are already below the level needed for survival.
  2. There is intense prejudice against marrying cousins.
  3. If we do not resume marrying cousins the birth rate will never recover.
  4. Questions of genetic diseases can be dealt with by modern screening.

That seems to be about it.  Of course nobody is likely to let you explain even one of them.  If you try to write a letter to an editor, it will not be published unless it is about a topic the periodical mentioned within the last couple of weeks, and even then it will have to be too short to explain anything that is not already understood.

And people don’t actually talk much; they use the internet.

But there it is if it’s any use to you.
